Full mineral wool top-up to 300mm with a raised boarding system installed over the joists — keeps the insulation uncompressed and adds usable storage above.

High-mass acoustic board system installed over party walls in a home office and bedroom — joints scrim-taped ready for skim, dramatically reducing airborne noise transfer between rooms.

Bedroom 1 — independent stud wall with acoustic mineral wool
New independent timber stud frame built off the party wall, deep-filled with high-density acoustic mineral wool and overboarded with soundproof acoustic plasterboard. Joints scrim-taped ready for skim.

Full-height stud, mineral wool and acoustic board build-up to the second bedroom party wall — sockets re-set proud of the new boards and joints taped, dramatically cutting airborne noise from next door.

Suspended acoustic ceiling soundproofing
Independent suspended ceiling installed below the existing one — high-density acoustic mineral wool slabs held in a metal furring grid, then overboarded and skimmed to a clean flush finish. Massively reduces impact and airborne noise from the flat above.

Internal wall insulation to cold external walls
Full IWI build-up to cold external walls — timber battens fixed off the masonry, JIKO Enertherm PIR insulation boards cut tight between studs, overboarded with plasterboard and finished with a fresh plaster skim. Cuts heat loss through the walls dramatically and eliminates cold-wall condensation.

Bradford, BD4
Bedroom eaves — kitchen extension roof insulated with PIR + VCL foil tape
Sloped roof above the kitchen extension, accessed through the bedroom eaves cupboard, fully insulated between rafters with foil-faced PIR boards. Every board edge and seam sealed with VCL foil tape to lock in the vapour control layer, stop draughts and prevent warm moist air reaching the cold roof deck.

Far Headingley, LS16
IWI to rafters of garage extension with tall ceilings + floor cavity soundproofing
Currently underway — JIKO Enertherm PIR boards cut tight between every rafter of this tall vaulted extension above the garage, with SuperFOIL multifoil overlaid and taped at every seam to lock in the vapour control layer and stop heat loss through the roof. Plasterboard overboarding then taped ready for skim. Acoustic soundproofing to the floor cavity between ground and first floor commences today (Fri 19 June 2026).
