Why depth and detail matter
Most lofts we survey around Rothwell, Oulton and Methley still have just 100–150mm of older insulation — well below today's 270mm Part L recommendation. Bringing that depth up, and cross-laying so the second layer covers the joists, is what unlocks the real savings. Done well, you can cut roof heat loss by up to 75%.
- First layer between joists
- Second layer cross-laid over joists
- Tucked tight into eaves with vent trays
- No compression around services
